Rain Cleaner runs with administrator rights and can delete files, change startup programs, install drivers and switch DNS. You should be able to check what it does before you let it. Everything on this page can be verified by you.
The installer is not signed yet. Windows SmartScreen will show “Unknown publisher”. Check the SHA-256 below instead.

These values are read from one release file, /releases/current.json, generated from the files on the download server after each release. The same file feeds this page and the update check.
Verify your download
Open PowerShell in the folder where you saved the installer and run:

Digital signature
Right-click the file → Properties. When the installer is signed, a Digital Signatures tab shows the publisher. Rain Cleaner is not signed yet, so that tab is missing and SmartScreen asks whether to run it. That is expected today; a wrong hash is not.
Signs of a file that is not ours
- The SHA-256 does not match the one on this page.
- It came as an .exe wrapper, a download manager or a “setup” with offers — ours is a plain .msi or .zip.
- Someone asks you to pay outside the program or outside Stripe checkout.
- It came from a site that is not in the official sources list below.

What Rain Cleaner can change

What Rain Cleaner will never do
- Clean the registry. There is no registry cleaner and there will not be one.
- Show a “free RAM” button. The booster eases off background programs during a game; it makes no memory-cleaner claims.
- Promise “300% faster” or any number it did not measure on your PC.
- Bundle other software, toolbars or offers.
- Install drivers from anywhere but Microsoft’s catalogue.
- Touch Documents, Desktop, Pictures, Videos, Music, Downloads or any personal file.
- Mine crypto, sell data or share what is on your PC.
- Invent threats or inflate numbers to scare you into buying.
- Do something risky without asking you first.
What happens when you click Clean

The history lives in ProgramData\RainCleaner\history, one file per month, readable only by administrators. You can export it; names, paths and identifiers are removed from the export.
Privacy and network
Rain Cleaner has no telemetry and no analytics. Your scans, history and settings stay on your PC. These are all the servers it contacts:

Machine ID: a SHA-256 hash of the Windows MachineGuid, the system drive size and the PC name, cut to 32 characters. It lets a licence work on the same PC after a reinstall. It cannot be turned back into any of those values.

Diagnostic data leaves your PC only if you export the history yourself and send it to us.
Recovery and what can be undone
Can be undone
- Drivers — restore point plus an export in ProgramData\RainCleaner\driver-backups
- Startup entries — switch them back on
- DNS — the previous server is recorded
- Game Booster — every change is written before it is made and restored when the session ends
- Files hit by ransomware — from the shadow copy, if the shield made one
- Pro: Undo Anything reverses entries in the history that have an undo step
Cannot be undone
- Deleted temp and cache files
- An emptied Recycle Bin
- A removed Windows.old folder (you can no longer go back to the previous Windows)
- An uninstalled program (reinstall it)
We do not promise that everything can be undone. The list above is what the program actually records.
